Seemingly a seamless continuation of Fendi’s spring/summer 2024 collection, comprising contemporary tailoring and form-fitted pieces in colour-blocked soft pastels and vivid brights, Kim Jones’ fall/winter 2024 collection saw a more earth-toned wardrobe for the same sophisticated woman on the go. What might seem conventional and subdued at first look unveiled itself to be a masterclass in layering for the modern ladies of the corporate world, who also have a keen interest in fashion. Also, two new bag drops from Fendi and leather Chupa Chups holders—what’s not to love?

If you could only get one piece of clothing from this collection, this would be it: a glossy oversized car coat in a charming midnight hue with faded edges. Styled simply with a pair of thigh-high boots, and a hooded knit underneath, it made a statement without screaming, and is a winter wardrobe staple that would transcend trends through the years.

The highlight of this look would be its racerback detail and deep-scooped armhole, which cements the saying “business in the front, party in the back”.

The athletic elements, which draw attention to one’s shoulder blades and nape of the neck, add a touch of subtle sensuality to an otherwise conventional maxi dress.

There is something romantic and playful about this look. The combination of a fluffy sweater, sheer skirt with polka dotted beaded embroidery in a medley of powder pinks and moss green, slipped over stockings and mahogany knee-high boots—who knew shades of fall could be so much fun?

To top it all off, an arm candy bracelet stack (yes, these are officially back!) with an iconic Fendi FF Baguette bag clutched in the same hand.

A dusty pink turtleneck bodysuit is worn undone to reflect the slightly playful, off-kilter elements of Fendi’s spring/summer 2024 collection, and paired with an A-line leather skirt with a front zip that opens up as a slit. Accessorised simply with tan boots and a Fendi Peekaboo, it’s a great demonstration of how playing with wardrobe basics can make them go a long way. Now, imagine this skirt with its zip up a tad higher, worn with a tank top and chunky sandals for summer: perfect.

Also, note the red knotted bag charm on the Peekaboo: it adds a touch of excitement and interest to an otherwise earthy fit—the power of red, even if it’s just a touch.

Last but not least; Kim Jones’ final look for Fendi spring/summer 2024, and the perfect look to sum it all up. An assymetrical chunky knit sweater worn nonchalantly over a long sheer skirt with an embroidered image of a sculptural figure inspired by the Romanesque soul of the collection, letting the deep blues of the tights peek through like the night sky.

The single arm warmer acts as a canvas for the chunky wooden bangles, bringing that bit of freedom and fresh air to this refined collection, of which women from all walks of life can pick apart to find themselves a part of.
